Tiger Woods who have always from the start been meticulous about equipment, recently this year signed a multi-year deal with TaylorMade golf and hence we found him on the course of the Valspar Championship using the metalwoods, irons and wedges of the company.  We also found him employing the TGR Prototype irons, Nike wedges and his trusted Scotty Cameron putter.

To talk about the driver he brings to play, he replaced the 2016 TaylorMade M2 driver that he used in 2017 Hero World Challenge with the 2018 TaylorMade M3 460 Driver, 8.5 degree one click higher with a Tensei white 70 shaft that stretches 44”- which we had the pleasure to watch him play with this January at the Torrey Pines.

The MI 3 Wood he used to be seen with before has been taken over by the M3 wood paired with the M3 driver which is fitted to his new shaft, Matrix Ozik TP6HDe that has replaced his earlier shaft, the Mitsubishi Tensei. As for the fairway woods in his bag, the first is the 15 degree TaylorMade M1, 42” with a 90 shaft, and the other is the new TaylorMade M3 at 18 degree with a 41” Tensei 90 shaft.

We also found him with the 460cc version in a 9.5 degree head with his very own Frank, the sassy driver head.  You have seen him glaring into your eyes as he walked past the course with Woods, seated on his driver’s head. And to talk about Frank, it is worth mentioning that frank was tailored by Daphne’s Headcovers, owned by Jane Spicer.  Frank, the tiger headcover came into limelight when Tiger Woods’ mother purchased him and brought him into Woods’ life.

What’s more exciting is the PING PP58 grip on his Scotty Cameron Newport 2; the grip being the oldest piece of equipment in his bag.  It is to be noted that other than his 1997 Masters win, all the 14 major titles that he earned, came from the PP58 grip.
